Encanto Review

Isabella Rodriguez

Encanto is Disney’s latest animated musical. It represents Latin American culture, taking place in a rural Colombian village. A family known as the Madrigals all receive gifts from a magical candle referred to as “the miracle.” Each family member’s gift is meant to serve and protect their community. The second youngest Madrigal, Mirabel, is the only one in her family that doesn’t have a gift. Mirabel is also the first to notice that the family miracle is fading—along with her family’s powers. Everything about this movie is amazingly done. Its visuals, characters, music, and storyline are all complex and heartwarming.
