The MLB Warzone This October

Ashton Burningham

AL East

The Boston Red-Sox absolutely stormed through this MLB season. They were the first team to win 100 games, and with rivals New York Yankees being ten games behind, Boston have

clinched the AL East. If Boston can continue playing as good as they’ve been playing, than they will be possibly the biggest threat in the AL.

AL Central

The AL Central belongs to the Cleveland Indians this year. After going to the world series 2

years ago, and winning the AL Central last year, Cleveland have once again won the AL Central, and it wasn’t even close. Will this finally be the year Cleveland win the World Series?

AL West

The champions Houston Astros, have won the AL West. Being the 2nd team to win 100 games, Houston had a great season, but they fought a big threat in the Oakland Athletics. With that being said, I believe that Houston will be the best contenders to knock out Boston. With players like Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and an excellent pitcher in Justin Verlander, Houston have a good chance of making it back to the World Series.

NL East

The Atlanta Braves have clinched that number one spot in the NL East. With the Phillies and the Nationals trailing, Atlanta ended up winning the NL East comfortably. With players like Freddie Freeman, and Ozzie Albies, Atlanta will surely be a team to look out for.

NL Central

There was a fight going on in the NL Central, but the Brewers have won the division. After

beating the Cubs 3-1 on October 1st, that dropped the Cubs down to the wild card game, and

gave the division to the Brewers. The Brewers finished with a record of 96-67, which was the

best record in the NL.

NL West

Like the NL Central, there was a brawl going on, but the Dodgers have won the division. After

beating the Rockies 5-2, that caused the Rockies to drop down to the wild card against Chicago. The Dodgers were struggling back in May, and everyone counted them out, but with a heavy push late in the season, they have now won the NL West for the 6th straight year.

AL Wild Card

This wild card is set with the New York Yankees taking on the Oakland Athletics. Oakland has

been a team that has played really well, and making it hard for the Astros to win their division.

But the Yankees have also been great this year. With power hitters in Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees will be sure to make some noise in the playoffs if they beat Oakland.

NL Wild Card

After a fight in the entire NL, it has now been set that the Rockies will vs the Cubs in the wild

card game. Colorado have been playing really well as of late, but picking up a win against the

Cubs in Chicago will be a hard task.

Prediction

In the AL I see New York winning the wild card game, but losing to Boston in the ALDS. In the

other series I think that Houston will eliminate Cleveland, and move onto face Boston in the

ALCS. In the ALCS, I see Houston beating Boston and moving into the World Series for the 2nd straight year. Over in the NL I think that the Rockies will be beat the Cubs in the wild card game, and they will also beat the Brewers in the NLDS and move onto the NLCS. On the other side, I think that the Dodgers will beat Atlanta, and will set up for an intense rivalry matchup against the Colorado Rockies in the NLCS. I think that the Dodgers will win the NLCS, and go up against the Houston Astros in the World Series. In the rematch from last year, I see the Astros beating the Dodgers again, and winning the World Series for the second straight year.
